{"id":749,"date":"2021-10-24T12:10:07","date_gmt":"2021-10-24T11:10:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.thomarite.uk\/?p=749"},"modified":"2021-10-24T12:10:07","modified_gmt":"2021-10-24T11:10:07","slug":"lime-pie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.thomarite.uk\/index.php\/2021\/10\/24\/lime-pie\/","title":{"rendered":"Lime Pie"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I have tried this pie&#8230; twice.. and failed miserably&#8230; twice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the typical random video I watch and then I add it to my to-cook list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Somehow I went for this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=G0aqhIcSBd0\">version<\/a> as I didnt want to use condensed milk as I thought it was going to be too sweet. I didnt do any meringue or used macha tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My first attempt was bad for a couple of reasons. The coconut milk I used was &#8220;light&#8221; (low in fat) and at the end, the cake tasted like acid (due to the lime) water.  And second, I didnt put enough biscuits for the base. And the biscuits were ginger nuts so I added extra spiciness to the taste \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"576\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.thomarite.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Screenshot-from-2021-10-24-11-27-55.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-750\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.thomarite.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Screenshot-from-2021-10-24-11-27-55.png 576w, https:\/\/blog.thomarite.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Screenshot-from-2021-10-24-11-27-55-300x141.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 85vw, 576px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I decided to give it a new go, using full fat coconut milk and plenty of (ginger) nuts. To be honest, it still tastes a bit bland. Shall I add more limes (but will add more acidity?), shall I add more sugar (too sweet then)?
